Volunteer Corner for February 2012

If your dog or cat revels in non-stop attention, bring them out for a visit with the residents of Green Hills Health and Rehab Center. While your pet enjoys love from the residents, you can engage in wonderful conversation with the residents and hear stories of their past. Everyone’s day will be a bit brighter! You must bring a copy of your pet’s current vaccination record to leave on file with the center. Volunteers are needed on the fourth Saturday of every month from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m.

Doc Severinsen to appear with Nashville Symphony

Marvin Hamlisch cancels due to illness

Marvin Hamlisch has been forced to cancel his appearance in the Nashville Symphony’s Bank of America Pops Series this weekend due to illness. Taking his place will be trumpeter Doc Severinsen, who will perform Thursday February 2, at 7 p.m. and Friday-Saturday, February 3-4, at 8 p.m. The legendary Tonight Show maestro so thoroughly enjoyed performing with the Nashville Symphony in 2009 that he quickly cleared his schedule to appear at Schermerhorn Symphony Center this weekend.

Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC) recently opened its new, state-of-the-art cancer center. The Cancer Center at MTMC is now in the Seton Medical Office Building located at 1840 Medical Center Parkway, adjacent to the new hospital. The facility has its own dedicated entrance and is conveniently located in the same building as Tennessee Oncology, the Center for Breast Health at MTMC and Middle Tennessee Imaging-Murfreesboro.
